Rev. Scott Johnson, Senior Pastor, grew up on the south side of Indianapolis. He is a graduate of Manual High School, the University of Evansville, and Iliff School of Theology. Rev. Johnson was ordained Deacon in 1976 and Elder in 1980. He has served churches in the South Indiana Conference since 1979. He was married to his wife, Paula, in 1975 and they have 3 grown children and 4 grand-children. He is the author of many short stories, plays, hymns, and poem, and "The Star of Bethlehem Shines Again" is a compiled book of his Christmas stories. Rev. Johnson enjoys bowling and traveling. Rev. Chiyona Bourne, Associate Pastor, came to Memorial from Epworth UMC in Indianapolis. She grew up in Gary, Indiana; graduated from Emerson School for the Visual & Performing Arts with a focus in Piano. After High School, Chiyona attended the University of Evansville, and Graduated from the Methodist Theological School in Ohio. She was ordained Deacon June 11, 2011 in the Indiana Conference. Chiyona brings many of her God-given skills and talents to Memorial, including advocating for children, youth, and adults on the Margins. She has a passion for Missions and has been to Appalachia; St. Ann's Bay, Jamaica; Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; South Carolina; New Orleans, Louisiana; Ilula, Tanzania, Africa; Zimbabwe, Botswana, and Zambia in Africa; and Panajachel, Sololá, Guatemala, to serve.

Carter Ammerman, Director of Youth Ministry, grew up in Nappanee, Indiana where he graduated from NorthWood High School. After high school he went on to graduate from Bethel College in Mishawaka, IN with his B.A. in Youth Ministry and Masters in Ministry. Shortly after graduating he married his wife Abby and they relocated to Terre Haute. He enjoys coffee, hiking, Batman, board games, Chicagoland sports, and music. Fun fact, when he was growing up Carter wanted to be an architect and still hopes to design and build a house someday. Email Carter.
Kevin Sell, Administrative Assistant
Kevin has been married to his wife, Sandy, since 1983. They have 3 grown children (all married), Scott & Lindsey, Jessica & Austin, Erica & Adam.
Kevin and Sandy love to travel, and usually end up at a beach or in the mountains. Kevin enjoys woodworking, remodeling, photography, and sports (watching and participating) . In 1965, he moved from Northern Indiana to Terre Haute. In 1983, Kevin became a member of Memorial and has been an usher, van driver, trustee, and helped with assorted dinners at the church. He looks forward to serving the church in this new capacity. You can find him most Sunday mornings at the M-Card table in the narthex (The Lobby/Welcome Center).

Pat Friday, Assistant Financial Secretary
Pat has been a member of Memorial since 1982. She works with the Memorial Yarn Ministry & United Methodist Women. She has served at the Lay Delegate to Annual Conference and loves doting on her grandchildren Ellie, Graham, Henry, and Hanna. She is known around church as "The Egg Lady", as she has a Chicken Ranch. Email Pat.
Don Brown, Financial Secretary
Don is a man of many talents. He serves God with all that he is. He’s done construction, repair, and he keeps Memorial on track with his impeccable financial skills. Christy Cresgy, Education Director
has been serving in her position as Education Director since 2001. She’s been teaching since 1997 at Memorial preschool. She holds a degree in both Elementary Education and Special Education. She and her husband, Joe, have been married since 1987 and have 2 children, Jordan and Chase. Email Christy.
Paula Johnson, Preschool Director
became director in January 2008. She is married to Scott and they have 3 children and 4 grandchildren. She graduated from the University of Evansville with a degree in psychology. Paula has 24 years of experience directing preschool with typically developing children as well as preschoolers with special needs. She has taught preschool for 15 years and has worked in the public school system for 7 years. Paula is excited about being a part of the rich history of Memorial Preschool.
Joe Cresgy, Media,
has been doing the media at Memorial since 2002. Outside of Memorial, he is an automation consultant for Kirby Risk Corporation and previously spent 27 years as an electrical engineer for Sony. He is married to Christy and is the father of Jordan and Chase. Joe enjoys bike riding, hiking, photography, and traveling. Email Joe.
David Gibbs, Organist and Music Director
has been organist at Memorial since August of 1982. During that time, the church installed a 23 rank pipe organ made by Holtkamp. This was installed in early 1990 and has served us well. David is also Director of Music and has held that position since July 2001. He directs the Chancel Choir and secures directors for other choirs we may need. David and his wife, Glenna, live in Terre Haute with 5 cats and 1 dog. David enjoys reading, cooking and playing for musical theater whenever possible. Email David.
Carmen Manning & Paula Metheny, Kids Hope Directors
Co - Directors
Carmen and Paula, as co-directors, welcome you as volunteers for children; 1 child, 1 hour, 1 week at a time.
Carmen Manning has over 10 years experience as a Kids Hope USA mentor and participates on the Kids Hope Leadership Team. She joins Paula Metheny as co-director this year. Carmen is active throughout the church, especially with children's ministries. Carmen chairs the Christian Education Committee and serves as the Kindergarten-2nd grade Sunday School Teacher. She is the email prayer line coordinator and is active in UMW. Carmen is a wife and mother of 3 adult children. In her spare time, she loves to cook and swim.
Paula Metheny is a longtime member of Memorial and has been involved in many aspects of church life over the years. She has been involved with Kids Hope USA since it's beginnings at Memorial in 2001. Paula and her husband Steve have three children, Megan, Mark, and Mallory; two grandsons, Aiden and Owen; and one granddaughter, Norah. Among her interests are reading, scrapbooking, gardening, and playing tennis.
